Finally picked up some acrylic paints the other day to use instead of paint markers. My question is how do you get the paint to look smooth and overal even? Right now you can see all my brush strokes which I really don't want.

I read people add some water to thin the paint down?

I bought mont marte paint (this is one of them) - http://www.montmarte.net/index.php?page ... l-scarlet1

Thinned paint and soft brushes. Are you trying to get that pad printed on effect that stock figures typically have? That looks like a paint for painting on boards/canvass where a lot of people seem to like the thickness and texture the brush strokes in a painting.

Those are more suited for canvas work; buy either craft paint or hobby store mini figure paint. These all will need to be diluted with water and applied in multiple coats for a smooth finish.

@Zthirtywo- Yeah, I am. Just never heard it called 'pad' before but then again, I'm still very new to this all. The paint has worked out for this one character i'm building..It's given a 'fur' like look. But otherwise won't use it again.

@B.A.L.D- Thanks! I'll go looking them soon.

personally I'm a fan of the games workshop paints.
they're designed to be used on small figures, have a very wide range of colours, and are pretty easy to get hold of.

i am however going to check out Mr.Colour as that's new to me
