Today I'm pleased to bring you an interview from a great artist and CTU Mod, here is the 6th installment of the CTU's interview series...

Presenting the CTU's Dirty Dozen featuring: Fried Gold Productions (irulan)



1. What name do you go by and why?

Fried Gold Productions- One of my favorite moves is Shaun of the Dead and I love the "How's that for a slice of fried gold?" quote.

2. Why did you get into custom toy making?

I started collecting Mighty Muggs, then realized that people customized Muggs and other toys. Being a designer, I was instantly hooked.

3. What influences / motivates your work the most?

Well, most of my work is commissions right now, but every once in a while I like to just do something for fun. I'm a huge fan of robots, so it's fun to play around with some different designs.

4. What is your favorite platform to work with?

Right now I'm on a Dunny kick, but I am starting to get into Qees

5. What tools of the trade do you use?
I mainly just just paintbrushes, sculpey, and aves. I would like to get an airbrush one day.



6. Do you have any formal arts training?

I have a BFA in Advertising Graphic design and a minor in 2D Studio Art

7.What other artistic mediums do you dabble in?

I like doing pastel drawings, and the occasional canvas. I also do a lot of design work on the computer.

8. Who are your favorite artists?
I don't really have any favorite artists, but right now I like Ashley Wood a lot. I also like a lot of Pop Art.

9.Who or what pieces do you collect?

I collect ThreeA, Mighty Muggs, and DokA. I also love Angry Woebots, but only have one piece haha.

10. What piece are you most proud of?

I'd have to say either my Licker Mighty Mugg or my Zambot Qee.



11.Do you have any shows or exhibitions in the works?

I'm in Toy2r's Qeeology 2.5 show.




12. Do you take commissions?

Yes
